In 2014 Punk took exit from WWE. Due to health concerns, he first left, but on his wedding day, he learned that he had been fired. He signed a seven-year wrestling retirement vow and later that year entered the UFC, where he participated twice before returning to the AEW in 2021.
Following Punk’s remarks on a podcast regarding his treatment by Amann and WWE overall towards the end of 2014, Punk was sued by WWE doctor Chris Amann for slander.
Punk and Levesque experienced personal issues while Punk was a wrestler in the WWE.
