Sam Altman’s ouster OpenAI CEO unveils Silicon Valley’s secret WhatsApp group of CEOs

Since removing CEO Sam Altman last month, OpenAI has experienced a traumatic period. After almost every employee threatened to quit over Sam Altman’s removal, the artificial intelligence industry suffered five days of intense turmoil before OpenAI agreed to reinstate Altman as CEO and appoint new board members. Mr. Altman claims that iMessage stopped working when his phone started to overflow with text messages. “And my phone’s iMessage broke from the volume of messages I received in the next thirty minutes.” Notifications just kept rolling in and iMessage had this issue where it stopped working for a bit, making my phone completely useless. “I couldn’t even tell because this message was delivered late and everything was marked as read,” he remarked.

Mr. Altman did, however, see the bright side, saying that despite the “painful cost,” the entire experience had taught him a lot. “My reconfiguration of my values and the empathy I gained from the entire experience has definitely been a blessing in disguise,” he continued. Although it was quite expensive, I am happy that I went through it.
