Americans Jesse Kelly and her daughter believe that their lives were saved by their Apple Watch. An IANS story claims that when the mother was a few weeks away from giving birth to her daughter, her Apple Watch warned her of an unusually elevated heart rate. Kelly was not physically active, so she initially disregarded the Apple Watch’s warning that her heart rate had increased to more than 120 beats per minute. Still, she felt that something wasn’t quite right because of the smartwatch’s incessant alarms.
At the University of Cincinnati, Veronica was informed that her baby had been born successfully when she woke up. But her struggle was far from ending. Her immune system had unintentionally attacked her own heart, resulting in a rare form of myocarditis, according to the diagnosis made by the doctors. Her immune system had been tricked into considering her heart as an outside threat, according to her doctor.
This incident is one more example of how Apple Watch features have proven to be invaluable in emergency situations. When a user fainted earlier this year from a ruptured aorta, her Apple Watch sensed no movement and promptly contacted 911.
