The board members of OpenAI asserted that Altman had not been “completely candid” with them following his dismissal on November 17 and that there had been differences in his opinions about AI security between him and higher management.

When Sam Altman was asked why he was let go from OpenAI last month, he declined to discuss the decision’s inner workings. He declared that he “welcomes” the independent investigation of his departure, which is being led by Bret Taylor of OpenAI.

The Verge questioned Altman on this and other topics during an interview. He expressed his happiness at rejoining the organization, even though he remained silent about the reasons behind his initial termination. According to Altman, the specific cause of the incident is unknown and is currently being looked into. He recommended that the board be questioned rather than him. When asked how he felt when OpenAI invited him back, Altman responded that at first he was wounded and upset.
